My semester is almost over, I am lacking one paper that needs to be turned in by next Wednesday. I am also finishing my last few days at work before I transition into my summer mindset. There are a lot of changes happening. On top of school and work ending, my roommates have bought a new house and so we will be moving next week as well. After the move, a quick trip to Texas to visit my family and then I'll return to PA and prepare to travel to Nepal. There is one small thing that could keep me to going to Nepal and that is my hip.
I have been having pain in my right hip for almost a month now. I have gone to a few doctors and have yet to find an answer for the pain. As a cancer survivor, I am always concerned that any new pain could be a recurrence. However, I'm not a huge fan of living in fear, so I'm trying to think positively. I visited an oncologist, who ordered an MRI. The MRI found a cyst on my lymph nodes, that they didn't feel was concerning. Now my PCP has ordered a CT scan which I'm hoping will occur on May 1st. I will also meet with an orthopedic doctor that day as well. It would be a real bummer to not be able to go to Nepal. I would love for you to be praying for me: that doctors will find the source of the pain and be able to resolve it easily, freeing me to go to Nepal.
If you would like to cover me in prayer while I'm in Nepal, I would very much appreciate it. I've created a sign-up sheet so that you can choose a day of the week that you would like to commit to praying for me while I'm gone. You can sign up for that here.
Thanks for going with me on this journey by either reading this blog or by praying for me. I'm grateful to have you with me!

Ethnography Through The Eyes of Faith
I am happy and proud to announce that I was awarded a grant from the John Templeton Foundation called the On Knowing Humanity: Ethnography Through the Eyes of Faith Summer Fellowship, to do research in Nepal this summer. I am so excited and I have a lot of decisions to make. Stay tuned for more information. For now I will direct you to the Gethsemane House of Prayer which will be my primary place of contact in Nepal.
